Third Announcement

Dear Participants; We would like to send you a few announcements concerning the meeting Function Spaces IX.

1. CONFERENCE FEE:
The participants who have not paid the conference fee yet (except invited speakers) are kindly requested to do it by a bank transfer as soon as possible. The data concerning bank transfer are available on the webpage of the meeting: (please click on PAYMENT in the topmenu). If you find any troubles with making a bank transfer, please inform us by e-mail. In this case you can pay the conference fee after your arrival to Krakow (we will be collecting fees on Sunday, July 5th in the hotel or on Monday, July 6th in the Department of Mathematics of Jagiellonian University).

2. ACCOMODATION FEE:
You can pay for your accomodation in the hotel using credit cards (except American Express) or by cash (only in Polish Zloty - official polish currency).

3. CURRENCY EXCHANGE:
You can change your money into Polish Zloty in Currency Exchange, which in Polish language is named KANTOR. There are many places in the center of Krakow, where you can find Currency Exchange. Also you can change your money at the airport and railway station. However exchange rates might be worse there.

4. WAY OF PRESENTATION :
You are encouraged to send us your talks or lectures in PDF files or PowerPoint presentations. But to avoid any unexpected problems, please take also these files with you. If you do not want to use PDF files or PowerPoint presentations during your talk, you can use transparences or blackboard and chalk.

5. TRANSPORTATION:
If you arrive to Krakow by plane (the Balice airport), you can go to the hotel by taxi (which is preferable) or using bus number 208. In case you choose a bus, you should leave the bus on the ARMII KRAJOWEJ bus stop (after about 25 minutes of trip from the airport). 6. VEGETARIANS:
Please inform us by e-mail fs2009@im.uj.edu.pl, if you want to have vegetarian meals.

Second Announcement

Thank you for your registration as participants of our meeting Function Spaces IX. We are very sorry for a delay concerning second announcement, but it was necessary to fix some details before sending it.

First of all the conference will take place in a new building of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Łojasiewicza 6. Since the distance between the hotel and the department is about 7 km, we organized bus transportation between the hotel and the department and vice-versa.

On July 8-th (Wednesday) in the afternoon an excursion to the famous salt mine in Wieliczka connected with a conference dinner will be organized.

The meeting will be opened on Monday July 6-th about 10.00 a.m. and will be closed on Friday July 10-th about 7.00 p.m. Each day (except of Wednesday July 8-th) the lectures will be delivered approximately from 10.00 a.m. to 1 p.m., then there will be a lunch break and we will continue approximately from 3 p.m. till 7 p.m. Lunches will be served at the conference building of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.

Concerning your lectures or communications, you can present them using chalk and blackboard, transparences or (which is preferable) our power-point system. We encourage you to send us pdf files with your talks or lectures using e-mail address fs2009@im.uj.edu.pl

The abstracts of all contributions of the meeting will be available on the Webpage of the Conference,

approximately about May 15-th. The precise schedule of lectures and communications will be known about June 15-th and also will be available at the webpage of the meeting.

First Announcement

We are pleased to inform you, that the
9-th edition of the International Conference Function Spaces
will be held in Kraków, Poland.
The participants are expected to arrive on July 5-th 2009 and to leave on July 10-th 2009 or July 11-th 2009.

The meeting will be devoted to various aspects of Theory of Function Spaces, Geometry of Banach Spaces, Operator Theory on Function Spaces, Interpolation Theory,Approximation Theory and Theory of Vector Measures.

The scientific program will consists of plenary lectures (45 minutes) and short communications (20 minutes). The abstracts of all contributions and the program of the meeting will be available on the Webpage of the Conference,


and in a booklet, which will be distributed at the beginning of the meeting.

The conference fee is 200 Euro (600 zł. for Polish participants). It covers lunches, coffee breaks, printing of the abstracts and proceedings, the conference dinner and social events. A reduced conference fee 120 Euro (350 zł. for Polish participants) can only be paid by a limited number of persons (PhD students or young researches), who will ask The Organizing Committee about that. A final decision about payment of the reduced conference fee will be made by the Organizing Committee.

Each participant can choose a place in a double room (about 28 Euro or 82 zł. per night, including breakfast) or double room used by one person (about 38 Euro or 112 zł per night, including breakfast).

Each room is equipped with bathroom, TV-set and refrigerator. A limited number of rooms is available in a student dormitory, which is also situated in the Akademickie Centrum Hotelowe. In this case the prices are: a place in a double room - about 20 Euro or 57 zł per night, including breakfast; double room used by one person - about 26 Euro or 77 zł including breakfast. Each room is equipped with bathroom and refrigerator.

The deadline for registration and sending abstracts of talks (if you intend to give a talk) is March 15-th 2009.
The deadline for payment of the conference fee is April 30-th 2009. Details concerning payment will be available on the Webpage of the meeting before the end of December 2008.
