This is to announce the first of two one-week schools on contact topology, each with 15 hours of lectures and roughly 15 hours of problem solving.
This first school is intended as an introduction to contact topology for graduate students and post-docs with little or no prior exposure to the subject. A good background in differential topology will be assumed. The focus of the second school will be on surgery of contact manifolds and related topological constructions.
Both schools will be held in Kraków. The first school will take place from 1st till 5th October 2012. The second school will take place from 18th till 22nd February 2013.
