The Chair of Approximation Theory is a part of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Jagiellonian University in Kraków.
The Seminar on Approximation Theory, iniciated by W.Plesniak, started on October 17th, 1979.
Till March 2010 there were about 750 lectures given by more than 70 mathematicians
(specialists in the theory of approximation and other domains) from Polish universities
